Mohom Apartments

Lione, France

Antique and contemporary, a dichotomy expressed to the full in the new French chain of MOHOM hotels with an original concept: studio apartments with the services of a four-star hotel but genuine home comfort. The Lyon hotel occupies a C18th building furnished in contemporary style, with bright, saturated colours contrasting with its traditional features: the large shuttered windows, the wrought iron banisters and the large boiseries. The floors are covered with oak-effect porcelain stoneware from the Vero collection, Chevron size, with Greenguard Gold certification and incorporating the Marazzi Premium Technologies.

The guest experience is the focus of a great deal of attention and the keystone of the contemporary concept of luxury.

Bleisure – travel that combines Business and Leisure – is a must for Millennials and members of Gen Z. Being able to work anywhere is becoming a habit for a lot of people, and so hotels must offer facilities that meet this need. However, people also want them to provide a friendly, home-like ambience. Service, delivered in a style as empathic and authentic as the accommodation offered to guests, must make them want to come back again with the same urge that takes them back to their own homes.

The MOHOM hotel chain has decided to combine the two contexts, hotel and home, in no uncertain terms at its locations in the cites of Lyon and Marseilles.

On Rue De la Barre, close to the Institut & Musée Lumière where the famous brothers invented moving pictures and on the bank of the River Rhone, it offers a new “all-French” form of hospitality with very comfortable interiors that highlight the qualities of the existing building but are tailored to the demands of a highly contemporary life and travelling style.

In the MOHOM hotel in Lyon the rooms are mini-lofts with sizes and services intended for people travelling with friends, as a group or with the family.

The furnishings, designed in contemporary style, harmonise well with the features of the historic Hotel-Dieu building, evoking the C18th boiseries, reinterpreted in bright solid colours, and the parquet floors with a Chevron design.

The traditional herringbone installation pattern, typical of aristocratic homes from the C18th onwards, is re-created in the MOHOM hotel in Lyon with the Vero collection, in oak-effect boards of 11x54 cm with a gentle 60 degree angle in Natural colour.

Today this particular installation pattern is back in vogue, as it provides an impression of movement and gives scope for creating an endless array of new designs to cater for any style, endowing any space with an air of elegance and lightness.

The Vero collection, also suitable for outdoor installation, is the outcome of Marazzi’s most leading-edge proprietary technologies. The innovative Sublime Sync production process combines digital printing with a high-definition material structure, recreating the knots and tactile beauty of wood with an unprecedented impression of depth, and setting a new benchmark in terms of fidelity to natural varieties of timber.

This tactile appeal is combined with outstanding appearance thanks to the technology of Marazzi’s production processes, which are careful to ensure low environmental impact also by keeping water and energy use down and recycling up to 40% of waste materials. Vero is also one of the collections with Greenguard certification, in this case in Gold class, thanks to its low emissions of volatile compounds into indoor environments.
